Dr. Boorn, who currently serves as Chairman of the Tornado Spectral Systems Board, is a senior executive with over 30 years global experience in delivering profitable growth in highly competitive scientific and technology based business. He is a driver of innovation in developing and launching new products, and in continuous process improvement to achieve sustained competitive advantage. He is experienced in public company M&A and in structuring and operating complex business relationships in a global context, previously serving as the Chief Operating Officer and President at ABSciex and President at MDS Analytical Technologies, a world-leader in the field of analytical instruments and mass spectroscopy. Dr. Boorn received a BSc in Chemistry from Thames Polytechnic, a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the University of Toronto.

Gordon Cheung is Medical Director of MRI/CT at CML HealthCare, one of the largest medical imaging practices in Canada. He is Consultant in Medical Imaging, Division of Neuroradiology and Interventional Neuroradiology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. From 1990 to 2003 Dr. Cheung was the Clinical Director of MRI at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Cheung is also an entrepreneur, a founding partner of TUC Managed IT Solutions, and a founder of Excelion Technology.

John Lorriman, a pioneer in the concept of insuring mortgages in Canada, has over 35 years of diverse experience in the insurance business. In addition to his involvement in creating Benesure, he has played a critical role in building insurance programs for almost every major Canadian bank and some of Canada’s largest retailers. Currently John is a Director in the BeauVest group of companies focused on direct investments as venture capital.

Ambrish Jaiswal has over 20 years of international banking and insurance experience including holding the Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer positions of the reinsurance arm of a major Canadian bank. In addition to financial management and reinsurance expertise, he has experience in actuarial valuations, statutory reporting, audit, risk, and treasury management. Currently he is Managing Director of the BeauVest group of companies focused on direct investments as venture capital.

Former senior vice-president business development at TransTech Pharma, Mr. Ireland has been involved in the pharmaceutical, specialty pharmaceutical and biotech industries for more than 25 years. He managed transactions in 2006 and 2010 with Pfizer and Forest Laboratories respectively, valued in excess of $2 billion in potential upfront fees and milestones each with recurring double digit royalties. Mr. Ireland brings international experience in business development, clinical development, research, sales, marketing, and executive management to Roadmap Capital. He received his Bachelor of Science with Honours, Major in Biological Sciences from Brock University, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.

After completing an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, and a Masters in RF Engineering, Mr. Zine earned a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Calgary, AB, Canada, in 2006 with a focus on nanotechnology and MEMS engineering. He joined CMC Microsystems in 2007 as a Senior Engineer in Micro and Nanotechnology Fabrication. Mr. Zine was involved with projects related to GaN MMIC (microwave monolithic integrated circuits) process, MEMS and nanotechnology related products. In 2010 Mr. Zine moved to the Business Development department to work as a Technology Advisor, Microsystems and Nanotechnology where he worked on projects in photonics, printed electronics and packaging.
